NAQT HS NCT Qualifier
December 11th, 2005 @ Carlmont High School, Belmont, CA

Belmont, CA - For years, people in the Bay Area have been searching for the proper way to celebrate Upper Volta's independence from France. The wait was over 55 years later. Congratulations to Bentley School whose two teams went 7-1 in their respective divisions, winning the first and second divisions and thus winning the tournament held at Belmont High School.

In the upper division, the team from Bentley, consisting of Brett, Seth, Hayden and Taichi began the day by going 5-0 putting them in a tie with Mission San Jose. Per the tournament format, Bentley A, Mission San Jose A, Monta Vista and Mission San Jose B would play a round robin in the afternoon to determine the championship. Bentley with a 2-1 record in the afternoon and 7-1 overall was declared the champion.  The Runner-Up was Monta Vista who went 6-2 (2-1) with their only losses to Bentley and Mission San Jose. Mission San Jose with a record of 6-2 (1-2) took 3rd place.

Bentley A, Mission San Jose A and Monta Vista, according to NAQT rules and as confirmed by Matt Bruce who represented NAQT at the tournament have earned the right to compete at the
